Auto wrap this week: Kia launches 3-row EV, Jeep rolls out Trail Editions, TVS updates RTR


As we move through 2025, the Indian automotive sector continues to buzz with exciting new launches and updates. Kia has introduced the Carens Clavis EV, while Jeep India has unveiled the Trail Editions of its iconic SUVs. Meanwhile, TVS Motor Company has launched an updated version of the TVS Apache RTR 310.Here’s a closer look at the latest developments in the automotive industry:

Kia Carens Clavis EV
Kia has launched the Carens Clavis EV in India, priced between ₹17.99 lakh and ₹24.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the seven-seater electric MPV will open on 22 July, with deliveries set to commence shortly thereafter. It currently holds the distinction of being the most affordable three-row electric MPV in the Indian market.BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe

BMW Group India has launched the 2 Series Gran Coupe, which will be offered exclusively with a petrol engine. The line-up includes two variants — the 218i M Sport and the 218i M Sport Pro — priced at ₹46.9 lakh and ₹48.9 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. The car is powered by a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 156 hp and 230 Nm of torque, delivered to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Jeep Compass and Meridian Trail Editions

Jeep India has revealed the Trail Editions of its popular SUVs — the Jeep Compass and Jeep Meridian. The Compass Trail Edition is priced between ₹25.41 lakh and ₹27.41 lakh, while the Meridian Trail Edition ranges from ₹31.27 lakh to ₹37.27 lakh (ex-showroom). Both models retain the same engine options as their standard counterparts: a 2.0-litre Multijet II diesel engine delivering 170 hp and 350 Nm of torque.

TVS Apache RTR 310

TVS Motor Company has launched an updated version of the Apache RTR 310 in India, priced between ₹2.40 lakh and ₹2.57 lakh (ex-showroom). The model continues with the same powertrain as before — a 312.12 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 35 hp at 9,700 rpm and peak torque of 28.7 Nm at 6,650 rpm — paired with a six-speed gearbox.

Aprilia SR 125

Aprilia has introduced the 2025 model of its SR 125 scooter in India, with prices starting at ₹1.2 lakh (ex-showroom). The scooter comes with a revised 125 cc engine and subtle aesthetic updates to enhance its appeal. It is offered in new colour schemes with matte and glossy finishes, including Glossy Red with Matte Black, Prismatic Dark, and Tech White.

Aprilia SR 175

Aprilia has also launched the SR 175 scooter in India, priced from ₹1.26 lakh (ex-showroom). While it shares design similarities with the SR 160, the SR 175 features updates to its powertrain. The model also debuts a new colour scheme inspired by the RS 457 middleweight sportbike.
