Suzuki has unveiled the Fronx Flex Fuel Vehicle concept at the ongoing Japan Mobility Show 2025. This version of the popular Fronx is capable of running on E85 fuel, which is essentially a petrol blend containing up to 85 percent ethanol. In terms of appearance, the Fronx FFV looks identical to the standard model sold in India, save for the Flex Fuel badging and graphics. It retains the same dimensions: 3,995 mm in length, 1,765 mm in width, and 1,550 mm in height, along with familiar black alloy wheels. While Suzuki hasn’t revealed the detailed specifications of the Fronx FFV, the concept’s relevance to India is significant. The Indian government is steadily moving towards higher ethanol blending under its biofuel policy, having already introduced E20 fuel (20 percent ethanol blend) in several regions. The Fronx FFV, therefore, gives a glimpse of how Suzuki could adapt its cars to meet these future fuel standards.
Interestingly, the Fronx sold in Japan differs slightly from the Indian version. It features a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Suzuki’s AllGrip Select AWD system is also available as an option, alongside an ADAS suite: features not currently offered on the India-spec model. In India, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx is available with two engine choices: a 1.2-litre K-Series Dual Jet engine producing 89 hp and 113 Nm, and a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol motor delivering 99 hp and 148 Nm of torque.Stay tuned to TOI Auto for latest updates on the automotive sector and do follow us on our social media handles on Facebook, Instagram and X.
