Porsche launches Cayenne and Taycan Black Editions in India: Price, features and powertrain


Limited Edition SUVs: Porsche has launched the Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe Black Edition in India. The Cayenne Black Edition is priced at ₹1.80 crore, and the Cayenne Coupe Black Edition costs ₹1.87 crore, ex-showroom. Both SUVs receive cosmetic upgrades over the standard versions but remain mechanically unchanged. The price difference stands at around ₹38 lakh for both models compared to their standard counterparts.

Exterior Highlights: Both Cayenne Black Editions feature blacked-out exterior details. These include black badges, darkened headlamps, black ORVMs, side window trim, and dark bronze exhaust tips. The SUVs come with 21-inch RS Spyder alloy wheels. Standard LED puddle lamps with Porsche lettering are also included. Despite the name, Porsche offers six exterior colours at no extra cost.

Available Colours: The Cayenne Black Editions come in Black, White, Carrara White Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic, Quartzite Grey Metallic, Carmine Red, and Cashmere Beige Metallic. Optional paint finishes are available at an extra cost. Prices for optional colours start at ₹7.30 lakh. Bespoke shades from Porsche’s Exclusive Manufaktur range cost upwards of ₹20.13 lakh.

Interior Details: Inside, the Cayenne Black Editions offer black leather upholstery with brushed aluminium inlays. Illuminated door sills and black brushed aluminium trim add to the dark-themed cabin. The models feature Comfort Seats with 15-way electric adjustment, a GT sports steering wheel with heating, and adaptive air suspension. A 14-speaker, 710W Bose surround sound system comes as standard.

Power and Performance: Both Cayenne Black Editions use the familiar 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine. This engine produces 348 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, sending power to all four wheels. The SUVs accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 6 seconds and can reach a top speed of 248 kmph.

Taycan Black Launched: Porsche has also launched the Taycan 4S Black Edition in India. It is priced at ₹2.07 crore, ex-showroom, which is ₹11 lakh higher than the standard Taycan 4S. The Black Edition carries visual upgrades while retaining the same powertrain. Buyers can select optional extras, which increase the price further.

Taycan Exterior Pack: The Taycan 4S Black Edition gets a gloss black finish on the front apron, side skirts, rear diffuser, and ORVMs. Badges and lettering are blacked out. The 21-inch Aero Design wheels are finished in gloss black. The headlamps have a smoky effect, and puddle lamps with Porsche lettering are included.

Taycan Colour Choices: The Taycan 4S Black Edition comes with 13 standard exterior colour options. These include Black, White, Jet Black Metallic, Ice Grey Metallic, Volcano Grey Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic, Gentian Blue Metallic, Carmine Red, Provence, Neptune Blue, Frozenberry Metallic, Frozenblue Metallic, and Purple Sky Metallic. Optional colours cost between ₹5.11 lakh and ₹32.18 lakh.

Interior Features: The Taycan 4S Black Edition retains the layout of the standard model. Features include a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, ADAS suite, 14-way power-adjustable front seats, and 4-zone climate control. A 710W 14-speaker Bose sound system comes standard. Interior options include two black Race-tex trims and two leather choices, with dual-tone themes offered as paid extras.

Taycan Powertrain: The Taycan 4S Black Edition uses a 105kWh (97kWh net) battery pack with a WLTP range of 668 km. It powers all four wheels via two motors, producing 598 hp and 710 Nm. The car accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 3.7 seconds. It can charge in 18 minutes with a 320kW DC fast charger, matching the standard Taycan 4S specs.
