The Delhi Government has launched an innovation challenge to retrofit BS4 and old heavy vehicles to BS6 standards, aiming to reduce emissions and promote cleaner transport solutions.

To reduce pollution caused by vehicles, the Delhi Government has introduced an ‘Innovation Challenge’ focused on retrofitting end-of-life (EOL) and BS4 heavy vehicles.The goal is to find new ways to upgrade these vehicles to meet BS6 emission standards. This effort aims to lower emissions and support the use of sustainable technology.

Applications for the challenge will first be reviewed based on their merit. Scientific proposals that are selected will receive ₹5 lakh along with assistance for testing.

The final evaluation will be conducted by the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), and the winning entries will be awarded ₹50 lakh each.
