Renault Triber facelift hits India at ₹6.30 lakh with six airbags, new logo

Exterior Enhancements: The Triber’s profile retains its stepped roof design for extra headroom. New 15-inch flex steel wheels replace alloy wheels, styled to mimic alloys. Three colour options—Amber Terracotta, Shadow Grey, and Zanskar Blue—are offered. The rear bumper has a squared-off design, and the Triber badge is repositioned lower on the tailgate for a muscular look.

New Logo: The facelift introduces Renault’s new diamond logo in India, first seen on the global Boreal SUV. The logo adorns the slimmer gloss-black grille with diagonal slats. The front bumper features a larger air intake and restyled fog lamps, while the headlamps, though similar in shape, include updated LED elements for a fresh appearance.

Interior Upgrades: Inside, the Triber gets a dual-tone black and beige dashboard, inspired by the Kiger SUV. An 8-inch floating touchscreen now supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. New upholstery, repositioned AC vents, and LED cabin lighting enhance the cabin. Additional features include a wireless charger, push-button start, and second- and third-row AC vents.

Safety Boost: Safety is improved with six airbags standard across all variants, a first for the Triber. Other additions include a 360-degree camera, ESP, TPMS, ABS, traction control, hill-hold assist, and ISOFIX mounts. Front parking sensors, a segment-first feature, are included, bringing the total to 21 safety features for enhanced passenger protection.

Engine Continuity: The Triber retains its 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine, producing 71 BHP and 96 Nm. It is paired with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT, the latter available only on the top variant. A retrofit CNG kit is offered for manual models, maintaining E20 compatibility and including a three-year warranty.

Feature Additions: New features include LED projector headlamps, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and cruise control. The 8-inch touchscreen has touch-based buttons, replacing the volume knob. The LED instrument cluster is updated, and the cabin layout is refreshed with new trim pieces, improving usability and aesthetics for all passengers.

Market Positioning: The Triber facelift is the first of five new Renault products promised for India. Despite its compact size, it rivals larger MPVs like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (₹9.12-13.41 lakh) and Toyota Rumion (₹10.67-13.96 lakh). Its sub-4-meter design and competitive pricing maintain its unique market position.

Pricing Context: Compared to the outgoing Triber, which started at ₹6.14 lakh, the facelift’s base price is ₹6.30 lakh, reflecting modest increases. The new variant names—Authentic, Evolution, Techno, and Emotion—replace the older RXE, RXL, RXT, and RXZ. The Triber continues to offer a practical, budget-friendly MPV option for Indian buyers.
