Maruti Suzuki to build 21 automated driving test tracks across 20 Rajasthan cities

The Automated Driving Test Tracks (ADTTs) will be used for applicants of two-wheeler and light motor vehicle licenses. Each track will have high-definition cameras, RFID sensors, video analytics, and an integrated IT system to enable computerised, rule-based tests. The process will follow Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) and aims to reduce human error and bias.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister Prem Chand Bairwa. It was formalised by Shuchi Tyagi, Secretary and Transport Commissioner, Government of Rajasthan, and Tarun Agarwal, Senior Vice President (CSR), Maruti Suzuki.
Prem Chand Bairwa, in a company statement, said, “I commend Maruti Suzuki for their impactful contribution to road safety through Automated Driving Test Tracks across various states. Our association with Maruti Suzuki to build 21 ADTTs across the state will make the driving license testing process comprehensive and transparent and contribute to safer roads. ”
Rahul Bharti, Senior Executive Officer, Corporate Affairs, said, “We are honoured to collaborate with the Government of Rajasthan to advance road safety with these 21 Automated Driving Test Tracks across the state.”
Maruti Suzuki promotes road safety through its 5E approach—Education, Evaluation, Enforcement, Engineering, and Emergency Care. Setting up ADTTs is a major part of this effort.
He added, “Driver’s skill is a critical factor in road safety, and technology can play a transformative role to ensure fair and accurate driving license testing. Automated Driving Test Tracks use high-definition cameras and analytical tools to enhance transparency and efficiency of driving license testing process. It eliminates human errors from the process and ensures that only competent drivers with requisite knowledge and skills earn a license.”
So far, the company has developed 45 ADTTs across India, including 17 in Uttar Pradesh, 14 in Delhi, 7 in Bihar, 4 in Uttarakhand, 2 in Haryana, and 1 in Jammu. With the 21 new tracks in Rajasthan, the total will increase to 66 nationwide.
