2025 BMW X5 launched in India at 1 crore: New variants, features explained

BMW India today announced the launch of the new and updated 2025 BMW X5 SUV in the Indian market. The new X5 is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The range begins with the xDrive40i petrol, priced at Rs 1.02 crore, while the top-spec xDrive30d M Sport Pro petrol is priced at Rs 1.15 crore (both prices, ex-showroom). Talking about the diesel, the entry-level xDrive30d is priced at Rs 1.20 crore, the top-spec xDrive30d M Sport Pro carries a price tag of Rs 1.15 crore (both prices ex-showroom). Across the lineup, the SUV has been refreshed with updates to its design and interior. Interested customers can book the SUV online or by visiting their nearest BMW dealership, deliveries are expected to begin soon. The BMW X5 is offered in Brooklyn Grey, Carbon Black, Mineral White, Skyscraper Grey, Tanzanite Blue, and Black Sapphire. The M Sport Pro variant comes with BMW Individual extended leather trim ‘Merino’ upholstery, available in Tartufo | Black and Ivory White | Black combinations. The standard variant is equipped with perforated Sensafin upholstery featuring Décor stitching in a Cognac finish.

The 2025 BMW X5 features a bold design highlighted by matrix adaptive LED headlights, L-shaped 3D tail lamps, and 21-inch alloy wheels offered as standard. Additionally, the M Sport Pro Package enhances the SUV’s sporty appeal with a high-gloss black finish for the kidney grille, air dam, and exhaust trims, along with an M Sport exhaust system. It also adds M Sport brakes with red-painted callipers, piano black interior accents, and M-branded seat belts, giving the cabin a distinct performance-oriented character.

Moving inside, the SUV features BMW’s Widescreen Curved Display, which combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with a 14.9-inch control display. It also comes equipped with Comfort Seats offering electric adjustment, a Harman Kardon surround sound system, four-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, 2-Axle Air suspension and surround view camera. It also gets BMW ConnectedDrive, along with BMW Digital Key Plus which allows keyless entry and parking via smartphone.Talking about the powertrain, the X5 continues to get two 3.0-litre, six-cylinder, turbo petrol and diesel engines paired to eight speed automatic gearbox which sends power to all four wheels. The turbo petrol produces 375bhp and 520Nm, whereas the diesel belts out 282bhp and 650Nm. Both engines also get a 48V mild-hybrid system producing an additional 12bhp and 200Nm under hard acceleration.
The new X5 also offers an optional xOffroad package, which introduces four dedicated off-road driving modes – xSand, xRocks, xGravel, and xSnow. Operated through a rocker switch on the centre console, it adjusts parameters such as ride height, xDrive settings, throttle response, transmission behaviour, and the intervention levels of the DSC system to optimise performance across varying terrains.
