Keralite scientist appointed Director General of C-MET


R. Ratheesh, a Keralite scientist, has been appointed the Director General of Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has earlier approved the appointment of Mr. Ratheesh, Director, C-MET, Hyderabad, to the post of its Director General.

A native of Melvettoor at Varkala in Thiruvananthapuram and a PhD holder from Kerala University in Physics, Dr. Ratheesh received many prestigious postdoctoral positions, including the Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) fellowship in Germany.

Dr. Ratheesh is an accomplished researcher with more than 120 international publications, one dozen patents, and 30 technology transfers to private industries. He also occupies the honorary visiting chair professor position at IIT, Madras.
