Delhi HC denies bail to Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam, Gulfisha Fatima in connection with 2020 Delhi Riots case
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday rejected the bail pleas of student activists Sharjeel Imam and Umar Khalid in the larger conspiracy case linked to the 2020 Delhi riots. Bail was also denied to seven other accused, including fellow student activist Gulfisha Fatima, United Against Hate (UAH) founder Khalid Saifi, as well as Athar Khan, Mohd Saleem, Shifa-ur-Rehman, Meeran Haider and Shadaab Ahmed.
“All the appeals are dismissed,” a bench comprising Justices Navin Chawla and Shalinder Kaur said while delivering the verdict.
