Tata Motors reveals India’s first 4-tyre truck with 5-tonne payload capacity


Homegrown commercial vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors, on Wednesday, launched the Tata LPT 812, a 4-tyre truck in the Intermediate, Light, and Medium Commercial Vehicles (ILMCV) segment.The company claims it to be India’s first 4-tyre truck with a 5-tonne payload capacity, offering the strength of a 6-tyre vehicle alongside the efficiency, manoeuvrability, and lower maintenance of a 4-tyre design.
The LPT 812 gets its juice from a 4SPCR diesel engine, producing 125hp and 360Nm of torque. It features a 5-speed gearbox and a booster-assisted clutch.
The truck includes parabolic front suspension with an anti-roll bar, full S-Cam air brakes, tilt and telescopic power steering, and heavy-duty radial tyres. It also has factory-fitted air-conditioning for driver comfort.The new Tata truck claims to offer multiple load body options designed for various uses like industrial goods, market loads, fruits and vegetables, and courier services. It comes with a 3-year or 3 lakh km warranty for dependability and value.

Tata Motors supports the truck with its Sampoorna Seva 2.0 initiative and Fleet Edge digital platform for efficient fleet management. With over 3,200 service points, the company provides 24×7 support.
