England will eye a consolation win as it takes on South Africa in the third and final One-Day International at The Rose Bowl in Southampton on Sunday.

The Proteas took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series after edging England by five runs in the second ODI. Joe Root, Jacob Bethell and Jos Buttler scored half-centuries but England still fell five runs short of South Africa’s mammoth 330-run total.

The series opener wasn’t nearly as thrilling, though, as South Africa steamrolled the host by seven wickets, overhauling a 132-run target inside 21 overs.

The ODI series will be followed by three T20Is between the teams.
