What is the format of the Asia Cup 2025?

The latest edition of the Asia Cup begins on September 9 and will return to the T20 format this year, serving as preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka won the 2022 Asia Cup, the last time the tournament was played in the T20 format, defeating Pakistan by five wickets in the final in Dubai.

What is the format of the Asia Cup 2025?

The 2025 Asia Cup will be played in three stages. In the opening group phase, the eight qualified teams are split into two groups of four: India, Pakistan, Oman, and the UAE in Group A; Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong in Group B.

Each team will play the others in its group once, with the top two sides progressing to the Super 4s.

The Super 4 stage will follow a round-robin format, after which the top two teams will contest the final on September 28 in Dubai.
