BMW to pass on GST reform benefit to consumers, X7 to cost ₹9 lakh lesser — Check rates of its other models


Carmaker BMW has announced reduction in rates of its models post the recent GST reforms.While essentials will get cheaper as per the new two-slab reform, luxury cars have received a ‘special slab’ of 40%, which replaces the previous 50% tax burden.

For the ones who purchase premium brands such as BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz, this results in savings of around 8-10%.

BMW on Saturday, September 6, said its flagship X7 SUV will now cost buyers 9 lakh less, passing the benefit of the new GST reform directly to coonsumers.The X7, which earlier cost ₹1.34 crore will now cost ₹1.25 crore.

On another note, Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) also said it will pass on the benefits of the recent GST reform to its customers.In a statement issued on September 6, M&M said it will pass on the full GST benefits to customers across its entire ICE SUV portfolio.

The Mumbai-based company said that it will avail these benefits for its customers from Saturday, September 6.

On Friday, September 5, Tata Motors too said it would pass on the entire benefit of the recent GST reduction on its cars and SUVs to customers from September 22.
