IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is likely to start the operation of its Delivery Centre (DC) from a rented building at Rushikonda Hill No. 3 in Visakhapatnam in September, with 2,000 employees and an initial investment of ₹80 crore.

Key sources in the Andhra Pradesh government said that all the pending key infrastructure and interior design works, in all likelihood, would be completed by September 20, 2025.

The government has allotted 2,08,280 sq ft office space to TCS in the Millennium Towers A and B on Rushikonda Hill No. 3. At present, around 75% of the works have been completed. The lease rate is ₹29 per sq ft per month, totalling around ₹60,40,120 per month, sources said.

TCS has displayed its signboard on the Millennium Towers building. The company has plans to shift to a permanent campus in the next few years.

“The government is keen on starting the operations of the TCS in Visakhapatnam from the fourth week of September. We have set a formal deadline of September 20 to complete all infrastructure and internal works at the TCS office. We have also written a letter to the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone (VSEZ), Duvvada to denotify the 21.16 acres of land allotted to the TCS. The VSEZ is empowered to denotify this land as non-SEZ with a prior permission from the Centre,” a senior government official told The Hindu.

A VSEZ official confirmed that they had received the communication from the State government regarding the denotification of VSEZ land meant for the TCS. “We are in the process of responding to the application,” he said o the condition anonymity.

On January 3, 2025, the Industries and Commerce Department announced the proposal of the TCS Delivery Centre in Visakhapatnam. The government had asked the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited (APIIC) to allot the office space of 2.08 lakh sft on concessional rent as per the customised incentive provision of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial development Policy (IDP) 4.0 2024-29.

On April 21, 2025, the government allotted 21.16 acres at the IT Hill No. 3 for ₹0.99 paise to the TCS for its permanent campus to be built with an investment of ₹1,370 crore. The TCS aims to provide employment to 12,000 people.

“The government supported the TCS as an anchor company. The State’s IT sector is expected to create five lakh new jobs by 2029. Vizag has emerged as the IT hub of the State due to its strategic location, good connectivity and well-developed infrastructure,” ” the official said.
