Q Branch police seize 32 kg of ganja at Ariyaman beach


 

Q Branch police have seized 32 kg of ganja from Ariyaman beach in the district on Thursday. 

As per the police, based on information about ganja being smuggled to Sri Lanka, they patrolled the Ariyaman beach area early in the morning.  

At that time, they noticed two people walking with a bag near a country boat anchored in the sea.  

When they identified the police personnel, the duo ran away from the area. 

Police while checking the bags, found 16 parcels of ganja weighing up to 32 kg. 

The confiscated ganja was handed over to Mandapam Customs Department. 

Uchipuli police are investigating about the two people who left the bags on the beach.
