The accused, identified as Abhay Raj Singh, 28, and Mithilesh Giri, 20, both residents of Mirzapur district in Uttar Pradesh, were taken into custody from the general waiting hall on platform number 1. Officials said the duo were behaving suspiciously, prompting a search and interrogation.
During questioning, the men confessed to their involvement in at least four snatching cases reported this year within the jurisdiction of the Secunderabad Railway Police.
The investigation showed that Abhay Raj and Mithilesh Giri have been close friends since 2024 and have a history of thefts.
