Two girls drown in pond near Thiruvadanai

Two minor girls drowned in a pond near Thiruvadanai in Ramanathapuram district on Friday (May 30, 2025).

Police said S. Roshini, 9, and K. Prasanya, 11, of Periyakeeramangalam village, went to play near a pond in the afternoon. As they did not return home till evening, their parents went in search of them.

After a search, the parents found that the girls had drowned in the pond and retrieved their bodies. The bodies were taken to Thiruvadanai Government Hospital.

Thiruvadanai police have registered a case and are investigating.
