The post immediately went viral, raising excitement among people about the possibility of Tesla entering the Indian market.
One user wrote, “Cool. I see them a few times every week in and around Toronto. Love to see more in India.”
Another user shared a GIF with the caption, “Cybertruck rolling into India…”
“Awesome! Glad to see updates from India. Potentially the 2nd biggest market for Tesla after China,” commented another.
One user raised a query, “Would they be road legal there or require some modifications?” To which Tesla Club India replied, “LHD, so can’t have permanent registration. It’s a temporary import using a carnet for a few months, then it would go back to Dubai.”

There has been no official confirmation about the launch of the Tesla Cybertruck in India anytime soon. A few days ago, the Model Y was spotted undergoing testing on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, hinting at Tesla’s increasing presence in the country.
Tesla CFO Vaibhav Taneja said, “The company is working on an expansion into India,” adding, “It would be a great market to enter, thanks to its big middle class.”
He further said India is also “a very hard market,” and emphasised being careful about the launch. He said, “That’s why we’ve been very careful trying to figure out when is the right time… these kinds of things create a little bit of tension, which we are trying to work out.”
Tesla may open its bookings for its Model Y by the end of 2025. The deliveries may start in early 2026. It is expected to cost between ₹ 55 lakh and ₹70 lakh.
