Tata Motors, on Tuesday, revealed that it plans to raise prices for its passenger vehicles, including electric models, starting in April 2025. This marks the second price increase this year, following a rise of up to 3% in January.
The company explained that the move will help cover some of the higher costs it faces, with the exact increase depending on each model and variant. However, it did not specify how much prices will go up.
On Monday, Tata Motors also announced a price rise of up to 2% for its commercial vehicles, effective from April 1, 2025. According to a regulatory filing, this adjustment will help offset increasing input costs and will differ by model and variant.
The company sells passenger vehicles like the Tiago hatchback and Harrier SUV, priced between ₹5 lakh and ₹25.09 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), as well as commercial vehicles such as trucks and buses.
Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki India said it will increase prices across all its models by up to 4% starting next month. Tata Motors, part of the $165 billion Tata group, is a $44 billion business that manufactures cars, utility vehicles, trucks, and buses.
