Tata Harrier.ev Excels: The Tata Harrier.ev, recently launched in India, earned a five-star rating in Bharat NCAP crash tests. The electric SUV achieved perfect scores for adult occupant protection (32/32 points) and near-perfect scores for child occupant protection (45/49 points). Bharat NCAP tested the Empowered 75 and Empowered 75 AWD variants, with results applicable to all Harrier.ev models.

Crash Test Success: In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the Harrier.ev scored 16/16 points, offering good protection for front passengers, including the driver’s chest and left tibia. The side movable deformable barrier test also yielded a perfect 16/16 score, with good protection for the head, stomach, and pelvic regions. The side impact pole test received an ‘OK’ rating.

Child Safety Scores: For child occupant protection, the Harrier.ev scored 45/49 points. It earned 24/24 points in dynamic tests and 12/12 points in child restraint system installation. The vehicle assessment scored 9/13 points. Bharat NCAP used dummies representing 18-month-old and 3-year-old children, installed in rear-facing i-Size child seats for the tests.

Advanced Safety Features: The Harrier.ev’s five-star rating is supported by robust safety features, including seven airbags, Level 2 ADAS, electronic stability control, and disc brakes on all wheels. Additional features include hill hold assist, rain-sensing wipers, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. These contribute to its strong performance in crash tests.

Top Adult Protection: The Harrier.ev secured a perfect 32/32 points in adult occupant protection, outperforming its diesel counterpart’s 30.08 points. It matches the Mahindra XEV 9e’s score, making it a top performer. Both driver and front passenger dummies showed good protection across frontal, side movable barrier, and side pole impact tests.

Competitive Pricing Revealed: Tata Motors announced introductory prices for the Harrier.ev single-motor variants, ranging from Rs 21.49 lakh to Rs 27.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The prices of the dual-motor variant will be revealed on June 27, with bookings opening on July 2. The Harrier.ev is the eighth Tata vehicle tested by Bharat NCAP.

Second Top Performer: The Harrier.ev is the second vehicle, after the Mahindra XEV 9e, to score maximum points in adult occupant protection crash tests. It also achieved full points in dynamic child protection tests using Tata’s Joie i-Spin Safe child restraints, securing 45/49 points overall without integrated child seats.
