Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday directed all District Magistrates (DMs) to prepare proposals for setting up mini secretariats so that services of different departments can be accessed under one roof.
Ms. Gupta gave the direction in a meeting with the chairpersons of district development committees and the DMs. She also ordered that ‘complaint and suggestion’ boxes be installed at offices of the District Magistrates (DMs), Sub-District Magistrates (SDMs) and Sub Registrar. These boxes will be monitored by the Chief Minister’s Office, a government official said.
“The objective is to build an administrative system that is transparent, accountable and citizen-friendly. During the meeting, all newly-appointed chairpersons shared their perspectives and there was in-depth discussion on future development initiatives,” she said.
In a separate event, she said “There are some who are in shock that the government has not completed 100 days but still so much work is going on continuously. So, they are circulating lists on social media as part of a conspiracy to claim slum settlements will be demolished. I can assure you no slum colony will be demolished.”
Adding that the BJP government is working for the welfare of all people, she said “We have kept a budget of ₹700 crores for works that need to be done in slum settlements. We are working to provide drains, toilets, and parks for children.”
