New FASTag annual pass announced: How to avail ₹3,000 toll plan from August 15

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways will introduce a FASTag-based Annual Pass from August 15, 2025 in order to simplify toll payments and ease congestion at toll plazas, The new pass, announced by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, will be available for ₹3,000 and will be valid for up to 200 trips or one year from the date of activation, whichever comes first.The annual pass will be applicable only for non-commercial private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans. It will allow seamless travel across National Highways without the need for repeated toll payments, Gadkari said while making the announcement the X platform.

To activate or renew the pass, users will need to access a dedicated link that will soon be made available on the Rajmarg Yatra App and the official websites of NHAI and MoRTH.The initiative addresses frequent complaints related to toll plazas situated within 60 km of each other. By enabling a one-time, affordable toll payment, the policy aims to reduce delays, minimise disputes, and offer a smoother travel experience for highway users.

The government expects this pass to benefit millions of private vehicle owners across the country by saving time and cutting costs during highway travel.
