Zee TV’s long-running and much-loved show Kumkum Bhagya continues to evolve with fresh plotlines and intriguing characters. Currently revolving around the blossoming love story of Prarthana (played by Pranali Rathod) and Raunak (Akshay Dev Bindra), the series is set to take a darker turn with the entry of a new character. Television actor Namik Paul has joined the cast as Shivansh Randhava, a complex anti-hero whose presence is set to stir up the dynamics in the show.

The introduction of Shivansh follows the recent return of Kundali Bhagya’s iconic characters Preeta (Shraddha Arya) and Karan (Shakti Anand), adding more layers to Kumkum Bhagya’s interconnected universe. Shivansh, portrayed by Namik Paul, is a composed and sharp businessman who lives a life guided by discipline and the values instilled by his Bua Maa. Known for his emotional restraint and laser focus, Shivansh’s world is thrown into chaos when he crosses paths with Smita Zaveri (played by Gurdip Punjj). Her unexpected reappearance shakes him to the core, igniting a long-dormant anger and setting him on a path of revenge.
Speaking about his new role, Namik Paul shared, “I’m thrilled to be joining a legacy show like Kumkum Bhagya, which has been a fan favorite for years. What makes this experience even more special is that it marks the first time I’m playing an anti-hero. As an actor, it’s both exciting and challenging to tap into a character who isn’t outright evil but is emotionally damaged and driven by pain. Shivansh is a good man at heart, but circumstances pushed him down a darker path. Portraying that shift in his personality, while keeping him real and relatable, will be creatively fulfilling. There’s a lot of suspense around why he turns the way he does, and I’d love for the audience to uncover that as the story unfolds. The team has been amazing, and I’m really looking forward to viewers seeing this new, darker shade of me on screen.”
