Launch Announced Today: Mercedes-Benz introduced the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series in India. The company confirmed the two-seater convertible costs ₹4.2 crore ex-showroom, targeting luxury buyers. It merges the SL’s classic design with Maybach’s high-end features, according to a Mercedes-Benz statement. Deliveries are scheduled to start in Q1 2026.

Two Design Variants: The SL 680 comes in two versions: Red Ambience and White Ambience. Red Ambience uses garnet red metallic paint, while White Ambience has Opalite white magno. Both include crystal white Nappa leather interiors. Chrome accents and rose gold headlights are standard.

Maybach’s Long History: Mercedes-Maybach has produced luxury cars for over a century, the company’s records show. It started with models like the Zeppelin in the 1930s and modern offerings include the S-Class saloon. The SL 680 continues this tradition with sporty and luxury elements.

India’s Market Rise: India is a growing market for Mercedes-Maybach, the company reported. Historical data notes Indian royalty favoured Maybach cars decades ago. Today, celebrities and business leaders buy them, according to sales trends cited by Mercedes-Benz India. The SL 680 targets these clients, aligning with market demand.

Hyderabad Lounge Opens: India’s first Maybach Lounge began operations in Hyderabad in September 2024. Silver Star, a Mercedes-Benz franchise partner, built it, the company confirmed. The lounge has a customer area, display corner, and delivery bay and aims to offer a tailored buyer experience.

Luxury Stores Debut: The Maybach Icons of Luxury store opened in Bangalore in January 2025, Mercedes-Benz announced. Plans include new stores in Mumbai and Delhi, with dates still pending. The MIOL Collection will roll out at MAR 20X facilities from March 2025. It provides access to exclusive Maybach items.

Exterior Stands Out: The SL 680 updates the SL shape with Maybach styling, Mercedes-Benz explained. It features a chrome grille and a bonnet with an optional Maybach pattern. The upright Mercedes star is fixed on the front. A light black soft top includes a subtle Maybach design.

Interior Highlights Craftsmanship: The SL 680’s cabin uses crystal white Nappa leather and seats have Maybach-specific stitching. A digital dashboard and adjustable screen show custom Maybach graphics. The steering wheel and pedals also feature Maybach branding.

Engine Powers Performance: A 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine runs the SL 680, producing 585 horsepower and 800 Nm, Mercedes-Benz stated. It reaches 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and tops out at 260 km/h. Rear-axle steering and 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive improve control. The setup ensures a smooth ride, the company claimed.

Global Unveiling Recap: The SL 680 was first revealed worldwide in 2024, Mercedes-Benz recalled. It builds on the AMG SL 63, with a grille featuring illuminated vertical slats. The bonnet and soft top display Maybach logos, which distinguishes it from other SL models.

Price Sets Benchmark: The SL 680 is priced at ₹4.2 crore ex-showroom, Mercedes-Benz India announced. It competes with the Bentley Continental GT convertible, Audi RS e-tron GT, and Lotus Emira. Bookings are open, with three units allocated for 2025.
