

Launch Detail: Mercedes-Benz India has launched the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Collector’s Edition at an ex-showroom price of ₹4.30 crores. This marks the debut of an India-inspired G-Class model from Mercedes. Bookings opened on June 12, 2025, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025. The launch introduces a bespoke version of the AMG G 63 tailored for the Indian market.

Units Limited: The Collector’s Edition will be limited to just 30 units nationwide. Mercedes will offer these cars exclusively to existing top-end Mercedes-Benz customers. Each car will feature a “One of Thirty” plaque on the rear spare wheel cover. The allocation reflects the model’s hyper-exclusive positioning. Past special editions sold out quickly, and this limited run underscores the brand’s bespoke offering for Indian collectors.

Price Premium: This limited model carries a premium of ₹66 lakh over the standard G 63. The additional cost covers customised India-specific features and finishes. Mercedes positions the premium as a reflection of the bespoke Manufaktur paint and personalisation options. The price structure aligns with the top-end luxury vehicle segment and targets collectors who seek rare and personalised offerings within the AMG G 63 portfolio.

Design Collaboration: The G 63 Collector’s Edition was developed in collaboration between Mercedes-Benz India and Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India. The project focused on hyper-exclusivity and personalisation. Designers drew inspiration from the Indian monsoon season. This collaboration marks the first India-inspired special edition from Mercedes, signalling a new approach to regional customisation and local value addition within the global G-Class programme.

Exterior Details: Two exclusive MANUFAKTUR paint options will be available: Mid Green Magno and Red Magno. These colours reference India’s lush monsoon greenery and iron-rich soil. A unique side protection strip runs the length of the SUV with bespoke Collector’s Edition branding. The package is completed by 22-inch AMG alloy wheels finished in gold, emphasising the model’s collector-focused design language.

Interior Touch: Inside, the Collector’s Edition features two-tone Manufaktur Catalana Beige and Black Nappa leather upholstery. Open-pore natural walnut wood trim adorns the dashboard. Each owner can have their name engraved on the dashboard grab handle. These features enhance personalisation and exclusivity. The interior layout remains functionally identical to the standard G 63, with added focused touches for bespoke appeal.

Powertrain Specs: Power comes from the same handcrafted 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine paired with 48V mild-hybrid technology. The setup produces 585 hp and 850 Nm, with an additional 22 hp boost from the hybrid system. A 9-speed DCT automatic gearbox with paddle shifters sends power to all four wheels via AMG 4MATIC. Mercedes claims a 0–100 km/h time of 4.4 seconds.

Customer Access: Mercedes will offer the G 63 Collector’s Edition only to customers who already own top-end Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The regular G 63 faces a waiting period of 12–18 months in India. To support this launch, Mercedes-Benz set up a dedicated ‘G corner’ at its Delhi showroom. The brand reports strong demand for Manufaktur customisations on existing G-Class models.

Future Pipeline: Mercedes-Benz India plans more India-inspired special editions for other high-end models. The Collector’s Edition represents the first in a series of bespoke collaborations. Brand executives emphasise the growing trend of hyper-personalisation in the top-end luxury segment. The limited 30-unit run will test market appetite for locally inspired editions and inform future allocation and customisation strategies.

Delivery Timeline: Bookings for the G 63 Collector’s Edition commenced on June 12, 2025. Mercedes-Benz expects to begin deliveries in Q4 2025. Each vehicle will be hand-finished at local facilities prior to delivery. Customers will receive personalised launch documentation alongside their SUV.
