Krishna University (KRU) College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research and KRU College of Engineering and Technology have achieved 100% placement rate, with the highest package offered being ₹7.2 lakh per annum.
According to information from the university, this is the first time that all students were placed during the drive.
Minister for Mines Kollu Ravindra, who participated as the chief guest in the ‘Achievers’ Day’ programme, organised by the university to felicitate students on the campus in Machilipatnam on Thursday (May 15), appreciated the efforts of the management for ensuring a 100% placement rate for engineering and pharmacy students.
Later, he announced that a ₹45 crore worth proposal for the development of Krishna University is being readied and would be put before Minister for Human Resource Development N. Lokesh for the sanction of funds. The Minister also said efforts are being made to pave way for a mega industrial park at Thummalapalem village in Machilipatnam mandal of Krishna district.
The Minister encouraged the youth to study hard and get a job to make their parents, who strove all their lives to ensure a good education for them, proud and happy.
Krishna District In Charge Collector Gitanjali Sharma, also present on the occasion, informed the students that there are many opportunities in the private sector and that they need not be stuck in the same field or job for years. She encouraged them to work in fields other than engineering.
According to the university, all 51 students from the KRU College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research who attended the placements received job offers. Five companies, including Divis, Hetero, MSNL, Laurus Labs, MedPlus took part in the placements. The average starting salary package was ₹3 to ₹4 lakh per annum.
At KRU College of Engineering and Technology, all 204 students in the two departments of Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering were placed. Gamma Stack Pvt. Ltd offered the highest of ₹4.15 lakh per annum to a student of computer science, while electronics students bagged a Central government job, offering ₹7.2 lakh per annum.
The Minister felicitated the students on the occasion.
