Kozhikode City police nab suspect in fisherman’s killing

A special squad of the Kozhikode City police on Wednesday (May 28, 2025) arrested a Kollam native who was suspected of killing a fisherman at a lodge at Beypore. The accused, Mudrakkara Jose, was nabbed while he was trying to flee to Tamil Nadu from Alappuzha.

It was on May 24 that the fisherman named Solomon, a native of Kollam, was found allegedly hacked to death at the lodge. According to police sources, a drunken brawl between the two ended up in the crime. The police zeroed in on the suspect with the help of CCTV visuals from multiple spots.
