The Carens Clavis is available in seven variants: HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX, and HTX+, offered in both 6- and 7-seater configurations. Bookings began on May 9, 2025, for a token amount of ₹25,000, and the Clavis will be sold alongside the standard Carens, positioned as a more premium offering.
The exterior design, inspired by Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ philosophy, features a Digital Tiger Face with Ice Cube MFR LED headlamps, LED DRLs, and Starmap LED connected taillamps. It rides on 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, with plastic cladding on doors and wheel arches for an SUV-like appearance.
The rear includes sharper LED taillights, a light bar, a spoiler-mounted stop lamp, and a redesigned bumper with faux metal trim. Eight exterior color options are available: Ivory Silver Gloss, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Grey, Sparkling Silver, Aurora Black Pearl, and Clear White.
Inside, the Carens Clavis offers a blue-and-beige dashboard with a 26.62-inch dual panoramic display, including a digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment. The top HTX trims feature twin 12.3-inch screens, but lack wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which are available on the 8-inch unit in lower variants.
Other features include a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a 4-way powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, a seat-mounted air purifier, a wireless charger, and a switchable touch-sensitive panel for HVAC and media controls. The second-row seats slide, recline, and have a one-touch electric tumble function, with “Boss mode” for the co-driver’s seat. AC vents and USB ports are provided for all rows.
The Carens Clavis is powered by three engine options carried over from the standard Carens: a 115 hp 1.5 L naturally aspirated petrol, a 160 hp 1.5 L turbo petrol, and a 116 hp 1.5 L diesel. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, 6-speed automatic, and a 7-speed DCT. Built on the K2 platform, the Carens Clavis combines refreshed styling, advanced features, and a range of powertrain options to compete in the MPV segment.
Safety features include 6 airbags, ESC, Hill-start Assist Control, Downhill Brake Control, Rear Occupant Alert System, TPMS, all-four disc brakes, and a 360-degree camera. The Level 2 ADAS suite offers Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Front Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Collision Warning, Blind View Monitor, and Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist.
