Indiana Fever guard Sydney Colson has been dragged into the discourse surrounding Halle Bailey and DDG’s messy split. Colson shared a video of herself on Instagram in which she is targeting people who threaten to kill themselves following a breakup. In a hilarious skit posted to Instagram, Colson shared that anyone who does things like this is scary to her:
“Hey, y’all, I just want to say, if you’re the kind of person who, after getting broken up with romantically or platonically, you start to fame being suicidal. You are so scary to me because the fact that you would stoop to that level.”
There’s nothing wrong with the first part of Colson’s video. However, the second part, where she imitates a conversation between ex-partners, seems to have rubbed people the wrong way.
“So I’m calling, you answer. You’re like, you try to fix your voice to sound like, sad, and, like, you’re gonna end it. I’m like. You’re like, hey, ….like, hey, like, what’s up? Oh, hey, sorry, it’s probably loud. I’m out at this party, but I was just seeing if you had done it yet.”
The timing for Sydney Colson’s skit is unfortunate, as just a few days ago, DDG alleged that Halle Bailey had threatened to harm herself. Their breakup has been a topic of much discussion on social media. Fans have stumbled upon the Indiana Fever guard’s skit and are letting her hear it in the comment section.
“What a weird post to make with the Halle situation”: Fans slam Sydney Colson for post-breakup suicidal remarks
Fans have been flooding the comment section of Sydney Colson’s video with mixed reactions.
“What a weird post to make with the Halle situation. Feels like you’re taking the side of an abuser. Sucks,” one fan said.
“Now you know good & damn well the timing of this post is crazy lmao,” said another fan.
“Now bestie….i understand what you’re saying but take this down,” another fan said.
Some fans also came to Colson’s defense, saying that she’s not joking in the video and is only explaining a personal experience.
“These comments are confusing me. She is not joking in this video. As much as she does love to joke, people do use this as a manipulation tactic and she clearly explained that that’s the scenario,” one fan said.
“This is a weird post SYD!!” a fan commented.
“Love you but some thoughts are internal thoughts,” one fan opined.

While fans continue to criticize her, Sydney Colson will be focused on the Indiana Fever’s upcoming game against the Atlanta Dream.
