The rain led to surplus of Pilloor reservoir with 14,000 cusecs being discharged as the dam’s water level was 97 ft as against the Full Reservoir Level (FRL) of 100 ft. Heavy rain in upper Nilgiris led to copious inflow into Pilloor reservoir.
Siruvani reservoir with an FRL of 44.61 ft has already reached 43.13 ft and the full inflow has been discharged as for dam’s safety as Kerala has insisted on maintaining the water level at 43.13 ft.
