
Homegrown two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp, on Wednesday, announced to introduce its Vida Vx2 electric scooter with a new ‘Battery-as-a-Service’ (BaaS) model. This offering aims to make electric two-wheeler ownership more affordable and accessible.Vida, the company’s electric mobility brand, includes over 3,600 fast-charging stations and more than 500 service points in over 100 cities. Hero MotoCorp stated that the initiative aligns with its goal of building a future-ready and inclusive EV ecosystem.
According to the company, the BaaS model allows customers to subscribe to the scooter’s battery through flexible monthly plans and allows users to finance the scooter chassis and battery separately.
The subscription system reduces upfront costs by turning high capital expenditure into manageable monthly payments. Customers can select a plan that fits their usage needs and budget.Hero MotoCorp will announce full details of the subscription plans, pricing, and other features on July 1, 2025.

The company said this pay-as-you-go model is designed to accelerate electric vehicle adoption. It offers users greater flexibility and convenience in managing their EV ownership. The company also added that this move will remove conventional barriers to EV ownership and encourage broader adoption of electric two-wheelers.
In the March quarter, Hero MotoCorp posted a net profit of ₹10.81 billion and revenue of ₹99.39 billion. On Wednesday, its stock closed slightly lower at ₹4,357.90 on the National Stock Exchange.
