Former MP Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) has requested the Vijayawada Police Commissioner to register a case against Chakravarthy Kadiyala, whom he accused of being hand-in-glove with his brother and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath in the liquor scam, for allegedly making a death threat on May 11.
In his complaint, Mr. Srinivas said that he received a missed call at 12.46 p.m. from an unknown number (8008969677) on May 11 and on returning the call at 1.55 p.m., the caller identified himself as Chakravarthy Kadiyala and abused him in vulgar language and threatening to murder him if he did not withdraw (Chakravarthy’s) name and that of Mr. Sivanath from the letter written to the Enforcement Directorate seeking a probe into the liquor scam.
This threat which amounted to criminal intimidation could not be taken lightly, he said.
Mr. Srinivas said that an unidentified person resorted to vandalism outside his house in the early hours of May 9 and that, though the number plate of the vehicle in which the perpetrator came could not be identified due to poor light and the entire incident was recorded on CCTV.
On being told about it, Patamata police station Assistant Sub-Inspector Kiran Kumar visited the site for a preliminary inspection.
Therefore, the police should register an FIR and take appropriate action against Chakravarthy after a detailed investigation of his call records, motives, and possible collaborators, Mr. Srinivas said, hoping that action be initiated without delay.
