An elderly woman was killed on the spot and two others critically injured in a hit-and-run case at Balijapalle village of Ramasamudram mandal in Annamayya district on Sunday. According to the police, an unidentified vehicle hit three persons when they were waiting for a bus in front of a local godown on Chembakur road.
The deceased was identified as M. Lakshminarasamma (65) from Diguva Palle, and the injured were Krishnamma (74) and Srinivasulu (62) from the same village. The injured were rushed to the District Government Hospital in Madanapalle and later shifted to the SVRR Hospital in Tirupati. The police registered a case and launched a search for the vehicle which caused the mishap.
