Chairing a meeting at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister reviewed ongoing works in all municipal corporations and municipalities across the State. Mr. Stalin instructed officials to speed up works related to storm-water drains and drinking water supply.
When the officials informed him that over 3,100 projects in municipal corporations and 4,900 projects in municipalities were to be implemented, the Chief Minister advised them to expedite the works.
He also directed them to implement all the announcements that were made in the Assembly, and ensure efficient functioning of solid waste management systems in urban local bodies, drinking water supply, and maintenance of street lights.
During the past four years, development works were undertaken at a cost of ₹8,000 crore, Mr. Stalin said.
Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Minister K.N. Nehru, Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam, and senior officials took part in the meeting.
